Shopware Included in Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant” for First Time

Schöppingen/Stamford, USA – Shopware, one of the German-speaking world’s leading e-commerce solutions, has been included in one of research and consulting company Gartner’s Magic Quadrants for the first time: the August 2020 Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce. According to Gartner, Shopware is recognized among 15 e-commerce software providers. For Shopware, this validates the relevance that the Westphalian company now also enjoys on the international market.

Since its foundation in 1979, Gartner has been a leading company in the area of research & consultation. The Magic Quadrant is a method that Gartner uses to compare IT companies. This two-dimensional matrix evaluates the factors “Completeness of Vision” and “Ability to Execute”, and the different providers are placed into one of four quadrants: Niche Players, Challengers, Visionaries and Leaders. From Shopware’s perspective, even just to be considered for the Magic Quadrant is a great honour for many small and medium-sized companies and illustrates how relevant they are in their respective market.

Incentive for Further Development

“We are very proud to be recognized in the Magic Quadrant,” says Stefan Hamann, founder and CEO of shopware AG. “We won’t allow this evaluation to make us complacent but rather use it as motivation to continue to grow and improve our product offering for our customers,” Hamann continues.

The release of Shopware 6 last year was likely one of the key factors in the inclusion of shopware AG. The new version of the award-winning software was developed from scratch following an API-first approach. This means that the new e-commerce system is not only high-performance and flexible, but also prepared for unforeseeable future challenges. Another contributing factor for Shopware’s inclusion was the new Rule Builder, which gives retailers the flexibility and automation they need to grow – a true USP from Shopware.
