To elevate the customer experience and future-proof its digital presence, MEGABAD has partnered with Shopware to develop a modern, curated online store. As a first step, a dedicated Shopware test shop was launched for the Swiss market: Le Monde Du Bain (www.lmdb.eu).

Le Monde Du Bain Switzerland went live at the end of January and is currently in a testing phase. MEGABAD is using this environment to explore the capabilities of the new shop system and middleware integration – aiming to fully leverage the platform’s potential. In the long run, MEGABAD plans to migrate its primary German online store to Shopware.

Shopware as a solid foundation

MEGABAD chose Shopware for a variety of compelling reasons – including its seamless integration between backend and middleware, support for modern technologies, and compatibility with the PHP programming language. Another major advantage is the strong Shopware community, which now includes over 100,000 members. This extensive network provides a valuable resource MEGABAD can turn to for insights and support whenever needed.

Beyond its technical strengths, Shopware offers exceptional flexibility as an ecommerce platform. It enabled MEGABAD to launch a fully integrated test shop within an established infrastructure – ensuring smooth coordination across logistics, inventory, orders, and data flows. By building this pilot store within the robust Shopware 6 ecosystem, the company is able to test new approaches with minimal risk. The insights gained from this environment are being used to strategically prepare the transition of MEGABAD’s high-volume main shop to Shopware.

"I'm truly happy with how things are progressing. Everything is running smoothly, we have a fantastic partnership with the Shopware team, and the results from our test shop confirm that we're on the right path," says Stefan Beyler, Group CTO of MEGABAD and the Swash Group.

Shopware’s API-First approach

Shopware’s API-first architecture has become an indispensable asset for MEGABAD. It enables the company to seamlessly integrate and process data from a wide range of sources – an essential capability for a large-scale business where performance and scalability are critical. This approach not only streamlines operations but also lays the groundwork for a more agile and future-ready ecommerce infrastructure.

Looking ahead: MEGABAD’s vision

As part of the international Swash Group (www.swash.group) and with a clear ambition to become Europe’s leading bathroom and sanitary retailer, MEGABAD is committed to delivering outstanding customer experiences. To achieve this, the company plans to build on the insights gained from its Swiss Shopware test shop and gradually transition its high-volume German online store to the Shopware platform.
