New in Shopware 6: Define measurement units per sales channel

This new feature allows you, as a merchant, to define whether your store uses the metric or imperial measurement system – either globally, per sales channel, or even specifically per domain. This ensures that product dimensions and weights are displayed consistently and accurately across regions. It not only improves the shopping experience for your customers but also helps avoid manual conversion errors.

By default, Shopware 6 uses the metric system. With this new option, you can now flexibly configure which measurement units should be displayed per sales channel and domain. As a merchant, you can maintain product values in your preferred unit – Shopware will automatically convert them to the appropriate unit for the respective domain or sales channel.

Example: You can use the metric system for your store’s .co.uk domain and assign the imperial system to your .com domain. If a customer switches the storefront language to English (US) and the corresponding domain is configured to use the imperial system, all measurements will be automatically adjusted and displayed accordingly.

Improved AR experience in your storefront

With Augmented Reality (AR), you can let your customers view products directly in their own space – true to scale and highly realistic. Shopware automatically generates a QR code, for example in the product’s media gallery. When your customers scan this code with their smartphone, the product’s 3D model opens in AR – no app required.

This feature has been available since January 2024 and is part of Shopware’s Spatial Commerce approach. Two recent improvements make the experience even better:

  • Direct forwarding to AR view Previously, when scanning the QR code on a mobile device, users were mistakenly redirected to the product gallery instead of the AR view. This issue has now been resolved: if the QR code is scanned from a desktop screen using a smartphone, it will now open the AR view directly.

  • AR placement on walls If you sell products that are mounted on walls – such as picture frames, artwork, or TVs – you’ll benefit from another update: 3D models can now be placed not only on the floor, but also realistically on walls in AR. This creates a more intuitive and accurate product experience.

More flexibility in B2B commerce: New features for complex customer structures and personalized product catalogs

With the Shopware B2B Components, merchants get powerful tools to manage business customers with precision – from permission control to customized catalog visibility. In the latest Shopware versions, two new features have been introduced that significantly expand this capability:

  • Introduced in Shopware 6.7.0: Organization units

  • New in Shopware 6.7.1: Advanced product catalogs

Organization units

Organization units allow you to map a B2B customer's internal structure – including departments, teams, or locations – directly in the system. Simply create a unit, name it, assign employees, and define payment and shipping methods as well as allowed billing and shipping addresses. This is just the beginning: future updates will bring support for sub-units and more granular permissions.

Advanced product catalogs

B2B buyers often expect access only to specific product areas – for example, due to technical differentiation or regional relevance. With advanced product catalogs, you can now define exactly which categories an organization unit can view and purchase from. Products outside of those permissions are completely hidden – even if accessed directly via a link.

This gives your customers a clear, personalized product experience and helps you maintain control over what is visible to whom.

For details on how to configure this, check out the official documentation:

Both features are available in the Shopware Evolve and Beyond editions.

Now available: Shopware Services

With Shopware Services, we’re introducing a new way to deliver features – flexible, cloud-based, and directly available via the administration.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Instantly available, no setup required

  • Automatic updates

  • No maintenance effort for merchants

  • Fast rollout of new, native Shopware features

Shopware services

At launch, the following services are already available:

You can find more details about Copilot, the Image Editor, and the 3D Preview Generator in the following sections of these release notes.

How to activate Shopware Services:

To use the services, you’ll need to activate them once:

  1. Go to Settings → Shopware Services in the administration

  2. There, you’ll get an overview and be prompted to opt in

  3. Only after opting in can the services receive the necessary permissions to work properly ⚠️ Please note: You must have admin rights to activate Shopware Services.

Some services may already show UI elements in the admin area, but they will only work fully after the opt-in.

You can find more information in the documentation.

Shopware Copilot: Your new AI assistant in the administration

With the new Shopware Copilot, you get an intelligent, chat-based assistant built directly into the administration – now available in the Rise, Evolve, and Beyond editions.*

The Copilot answers your questions about Shopware: from features and configurations to best practices – always tailored to your specific version and plan. This helps you find solutions faster, without having to dig through documentation, forums, or support tickets. It’s also ideal for onboarding new team members.

Best of all: The Copilot remains active while you navigate through the admin – allowing you to ask questions and keep working at the same time.

Example questions you can ask:

  • “How do I add a new product?”

  • “How do I set up discounts?”

  • “Where can I edit my return policy?”

But this is just the beginning. Over the coming months, the Copilot will gradually evolve into a truly intelligent agentic commerce system. Highly specialized, autonomous AI agents will extend its capabilities – for example in areas like automation and business intelligence.

Shopware AI – Image Editor: High-quality product images without a photo shoot

With the new Shopware version, the Image Editor is now available – for all users on Shopware Rise or higher.* It allows you to turn simple product photos into professional visuals or quickly create eye-catching campaign assets – all directly within the admin, without the need for a studio.

Whether you're removing backgrounds, adding shadows, or placing products into new scenes – the editor provides all the tools to showcase your products effectively. Thanks to AI-powered image processing by Finegrain, the results look natural and high-quality. The big advantage: your product’s appearance is preserved – unlike with many other AI models.

Example: You can cut out a product, place it into a new scene – lighting, shadows, and even reflections automatically adjust as if the product had been photographed in that exact environment. Find out more in our documentation.

3D Preview Generator: Automatic previews for your 3D models

3D files can make a strong visual impact in your shop – but without a preview image, they often look incomplete in the media gallery. That’s where the new 3D Preview Generator comes in: from now on, every uploaded .glb file will automatically get a static preview image.

This preview is shown both in the media manager in the admin and in the storefront – for example, in product listings or the image gallery on the product detail page – delivering a more consistent and professional media experience.

The preview is generated automatically as soon as you upload a .glb file – no setup or configuration required.

New: Define delivery times per warehouse group

Inventory management in Shopware just got even more flexible: you can now set individual delivery times for each warehouse group. This feature extends the existing Multi-Inventory functionality, which is available in the Shopware Beyond plan.

Delivery times are maintained directly within a new tab on the respective warehouse group – no separate save button is required, as changes are applied instantly.
