Why mywalit decided to migrate to Shopware

mywalit

mywalit is a premium Italian brand of designer leather wallets, bags, coin purses and handbags. Founded in 2005 in Lucca, Italy, the company operates internationally with offices in Italy, the UK and the United States and distribution centres in all corners of the globe.

“As a growing business, it is essential that we have a scalable platform that can evolve alongside changing customer demands and convey the story of our brand. With its leading content and commerce capabilities, Shopware stood out as the best platform to support our expansion,” said Ermes Moretti, Head of Ecommerce mywalit.

After a lengthy evaluation process, mywalit selected Shopware Enterprise due to the platform’s comparatively fast time-to-market, low cost of ownership, commitment to innovation, and range of features already included in the standard version.

Having evaluated several partners, mywalit ultimately awarded the project to Shopware Enterprise Partner GPMD from London.

On choosing an appropriate partner for their project, Ermes Moretti said: “After meeting the team, we realised GPMD would be the right fit for our project. Their experience building luxury eCommerce stores and collaborative approach make us confident they are able to honour our brand with a world-class site.”

Shopware enables an extremely short time to market. Many business models can therefore be devised from the standard model, resulting in significant reductions in project run times and costs. Mywalit, as an example, is already due to go live in spring 2018.

More than 60,000 customers, including big players such as Hughes, L’Oreal, EURONICS and Mattel, trust in Shopware as the basis of their eCommerce business.

Shopware CEO Stefan Heyne: “We are excited that to share that Shopware enabled €5bn in gross commerce volume last year alone. Since our inception, we’ve believed in giving brands the power to do what they do best by providing them with a highly flexible eCommerce platform. We are very proud to have been selected as the platform behind mywalit’s new online presence and look forward to helping them take the next steps in their global expansion strategy.”
