Press releases

Here you will find the latest information about Shopware and details about all innovations relating to the Shopware universe.

Shopware is taking a new approach to the frontend: At this year’s Shopware Community Day, which was held in a virtual environment due to the coronavirus crisis, shopware AG presented its new Progressive Web App (PWA). The PWA was developed by the shop software provider in collaboration with the open source platform Vue Storefront.

At this year’s purely digital Community Day, Shopware announced that a cloud solution has now been added to their product portfolio: the so-called Starter Edition. With this addition, Shopware aims to support entrepreneurs and start-ups and make the possibilities offered by Shopware 6 more accessible to new market players with innovative ideas. The Starter Edition is the first of many steps in bringing Shopware’s breakthrough technologies to the cloud.

For years, Sendcloud has been one of the most popular plugins in the Shopware store. As a result, the shipping tool is now a native integration for Shopware 6, as Sendcloud GmbH becomes an even larger part of the Shopware partner network.

Given the situation surrounding coronavirus, the Shopware Community Day 2020 will take place as a purely digital event over the course of two days. Shopware invites participants to take part on 18th and 19th June for the 10th round of this unique industry event – participation is entirely free of charge.

Many online retailers, whose shop is based on the eCommerce platform Magento, are currently unsettled. The reason for is that Magento will be discontinuing its Magento 1 support as of July 2020. Given the uncertainty associated with this, many retailers are now faced with a tough decision of whether to go down the complex and expensive route of migrating to Magento 2 or to switch to an alternative eCommerce solution directly. shopware AG published a white paper that shines a light fully on the uncertainties surrounding Magento 1, sets out expert opinions and demonstrates why Shopware 6 is the right choice at this time.

The shopware AG partner network is growing all the time; in Croatian agency Inchoo, Shopware has gained another expert partner with more than 11 years of experience in e-commerce. Inchoo was founded as a full-service e-commerce agency in 2008. They have gained experience with numerous platforms since then, but quickly focused on Magento projects and are now among the leading Magneto agencies.

shopware AG and payment provider Klarna strengthen their partnership: Klarna is now an exclusive Shopware Preferred Technology Partner and one of the recommended payment solutions for Shopware 6. The corresponding plugin is compatible with the latest Shopware version.

In May of last year, Shopware announced the next generation of their ecommerce solution, Shopware 6, and has since published various early access releases. Now after months of integrating feedback from their international community, today the company made the final release, Shopware 6.1, publicly available for download.

Shopware, the leading German provider of e-commerce solutions, and Mollie, a Dutch provider of smart payment services, join forces. Shopware users will therefore be able to integrate Mollie into their shops.

Shopware, one of the leading open source ecommerce platforms, and Mailchimp, a leading platform for marketing automation tools, have established a strategic partnership to offer a free Mailchimp integration for Shopware.
