Press releases

Here you will find the latest information about Shopware and details about all innovations relating to the Shopware universe.

The shopware AG partner network is growing all the time; in Croatian agency Inchoo, Shopware has gained another expert partner with more than 11 years of experience in e-commerce. Inchoo was founded as a full-service e-commerce agency in 2008. They have gained experience with numerous platforms since then, but quickly focused on Magento projects and are now among the leading Magneto agencies.

shopware AG and payment provider Klarna strengthen their partnership: Klarna is now an exclusive Shopware Preferred Technology Partner and one of the recommended payment solutions for Shopware 6. The corresponding plugin is compatible with the latest Shopware version.

In May of last year, Shopware announced the next generation of their ecommerce solution, Shopware 6, and has since published various early access releases. Now after months of integrating feedback from their international community, today the company made the final release, Shopware 6.1, publicly available for download.

Shopware, the leading German provider of e-commerce solutions, and Mollie, a Dutch provider of smart payment services, join forces. Shopware users will therefore be able to integrate Mollie into their shops.

Shopware, one of the leading open source ecommerce platforms, and Mailchimp, a leading platform for marketing automation tools, have established a strategic partnership to offer a free Mailchimp integration for Shopware.

Schöppingen / London 12.08.2019 – today sees the release of Shopware 5.6, the latest version of Shopware’s “5” product line. The release shows that the current version is still a high priority for the manufacturer despite the forthcoming release of Shopware 6. The release is intended to act as a link between Shopware 5 and the new technology.

Shopware senior management is preparing for the future: Three new directors – Herbert Lefering, Jörn Paulsen and Josua Seiler – will strengthen the management team with immediate effect. The managers each have experience in online retail and come from comprehensive technical or sales backgrounds. Stefan Hamann and Sebastian Hamann, who will jointly manage shopware AG, will become members of the Management Board.

shopware AG has released the Early Access Version of Shopware 6. Following the Developer Preview, available since the announcement of Shopware 6 in May, the new release now also provides the general public with a first impression of what is on offer, with the opportunity to take advantage of the new technology at an early stage.

Shopware held the largest Shopware Community Day of all time with 2,500 visitors last Thursday at the Landscape Park (Landschaftspark) in Duisburg, Germany. The highlight of the ninth edition, the theme of which this year was “Journeys”, was the announcement of the latest software generation – Shopware 6 – by Shopware CEO Sebastian Hamann. While the top-class speakers Judith Williams, Heather Mills and Ken Hughes inspired the audience with their lectures, selected partners were invited to celebrate the second official presentation of the Shopware Partner Awards at the end of the trade fair day.

Shopware introduced the next generation of their software at the Shopware Community Day. Shopware 6 is built on an entirely new technical basis and has been developed from scratch following an approach that allows the implementation of any conceivable form of eCommerce project. Focussing on maximum freedom through automation and networking, Shopware has effectively evolved from a “shop system” to a comprehensive “eCommerce system”. Shopware wants to provide retailers with a platform that acts as a technological hotbed for diverse business strategies and open up previously untapped growth opportunities.
