Shopware 6 release news: Discover the new features in December 2025

The final minor release of the year is here: Shopware 6.7.5.0 brings greater transparency for inherited content, a new skills overview for Copilot, more flexible SEO controls, and several other practical improvements.

You’ll find all the details in the sections below.

Overview:

Release news general updates clean blue

Inheritance indicators in content page layouts

Editing storefront content just became more transparent. Shopware now shows whether elements come from Shopping Experiences or content page settings, helping merchants edit with confidence, avoid mistakes, and work more efficiently.

How it works Content layout elements within the admin are now labeled with their source, making it instantly clear whether they originate from a Shopping Experience layout or from content page configuration.

When a user modifies content, the indicator updates in real-time. A reset option allows restoring layout defaults with a single click. And when switching or deleting layouts, it is now visible to users if custom overrides would be lost, preventing accidental overwrites or missing content.

This simple but impactful improvement ensures that merchants always know where to make changes and prevents accidental modifications to the wrong area.

Advantages

  • Clear content origins – instantly know where each element is defined

  • Fewer editing mistakes – avoid unintentionally overwriting or duplicating content

  • Smoother workflows – spend less time searching and second-guessing

  • Easy recovery – reset any element back to the original layout content

  • More confident storefront editing – especially helpful for merchants managing multiple layouts

Who it’s relevant for

  • Merchants managing content-specific layouts and Shopping Experiences

  • Content editors working collaboratively across teams

  • Agencies and partners maintaining large or complex storefronts

More accurate tax calculation logic for B2B and B2C customers

To ensure correct tax handling in the checkout, the logic for detecting tax-free carts has been significantly improved. Previously, activating “Tax-free for B2C” in the country settings could also unintentionally affect B2B customers, leading to inaccurate tax calculations.

With this update, Shopware now cleanly separates B2B and B2C tax behavior, applying the correct rules based on the customer type. A valuable update for all merchants serving both B2C and B2B customers.

More SEO control: enhanced robots.txt configuration

With this update, you gain much more flexibility in managing your robots.txt and controlling how search engines access your shop.

The robots.txt file is now fully rendered according to standard and can be extended with custom user-agent rules.

What’s new?

  • Add custom user-agent blocks – ideal for allowing or blocking specific crawlers.

  • Full robots.txt standard support – all common directives are now available.

  • New parsing logic – improved error handling and more transparency for custom configurations.

This gives you greater control over crawling and indexing, reduces potential error sources thanks to a clearer structure, and allows you to manage everything directly within Shopware – no additional tools needed.

For a detailed guide, see the documentation: Extend robots.txt configuration

Automatic cleanup of corrupted media entries

With the latest update, Shopware now ensures a cleaner and more reliable media management experience. A new scheduled task detects and removes corrupted or incomplete media entries – for example, those created by interrupted or failed uploads that have no corresponding file content.

What’s new?

  • Automated cleanup: The media.cleanup_corrupted_media task regularly checks your media database.

  • Smart detection: Records without an existing file are identified automatically.

  • Safe removal: Only truly “broken” records are removed – all other media remains unaffected.

As a result, merchants benefit from a clean media library and no longer need to perform manual checks.

Release news Developer news clean blue

Shopware 6.7.5.0 also brings a range of improvements for developers, for example:

  • Improved store API documentation: The OpenAPI schema generator for Store API endpoints now includes descriptions for entity fields, making it easier for developers to understand the available fields and their purposes.

  • New JSON Web Token (JWT) framework: Added new Shopware\Core\Framework\JWT\SalesChannel\JWTGenerator and Shopware\Core\Framework\JWT\Struct\JWTStruct to build general structure for encoding and decoding JWT.

  • Improved database stability: It's now possible to overwrite the wrapper Class of the Doctrine\DBAL\Connection instance. This is useful if you want to use e.g. Doctrine MySQL Comeback to automatically reconnect if the MySQL connection is lost.
