The success story continues: For the second year in a row, Shopware honors visionary online stores

On June 10, 2026, the time had come: The Shopware Visionary Award was presented for the second time as part of the Shopware Community Day (SCD). Under the motto “Celebrating the Bold,” Shopware recognized companies that do more than simply operate in digital commerce – they challenge conventions, push boundaries, and shape the future of ecommerce.

The award celebrates visionary B2B and B2C online stores that combine excellence, emotion, and efficiency in exceptional ways. A jury consisting of members of the Shopware management team selected the three winners.

From nomination to jury decision

The path to becoming a winner involved several stages. First, customers and partners were invited to nominate online stores. From all submissions, Shopware created a shortlist of twelve nominees, which were then showcased in the Community Hub. There, the community had the opportunity to support their favorites. Based on this public voting phase, six finalists were selected. From those finalists, the jury ultimately chose the three winners.

The finalists – diversity and innovation

The quality of the nominated online stores demonstrated that courage and creativity are deeply rooted in the Shopware Community. The six finalists were:

  • KoRo

  • MissPompadour

  • Villa Schmidt GmbH

  • Adam Matheis GmbH & Co. KG (Schlafgut)

All finalists brought bold ideas and innovative approaches to digital commerce. In the end, however, three of them stood out and particularly impressed both the community and the jury.

MissPompadour – Shopware Visionary Award 2026

MissPompadour received the award in the “Emotion” category, demonstrating how seamlessly community, inspiration, and shopping experiences can come together in digital commerce. The online store has created a distinctive brand world that goes far beyond traditional product presentations, inspiring customers to confidently take on their own home improvement and design projects.

A key driver of this success is the combination of community engagement and authentic storytelling. More than 22,000 real before-and-after projects build trust, provide inspiration, and transform social proof into genuine purchase confidence. This experience is complemented by expert Q&As, tutorials, and project-based shopping journeys that make even complex DIY decisions approachable and easy to navigate.

MissPompadour also stands out through its modern omnichannel experience. Its dedicated app ecosystem combines AR capabilities, AI-powered color visualization, multilingual commerce, and connected point-of-sale experiences to bridge digital inspiration with practical application. At the same time, the company continues to drive community-led growth through a rewards-based engagement model, user-generated content, and scalable in-house technology.

MissPompadour’s ability to create exceptional commerce experiences is also reflected in its impressive track record of industry recognition. The brand has received multiple Shop Usability Awards, including the overall winner title in 2022 as well as awards in the categories “Home, DIY & Garden,” “Community,” and “Mobile Experience.”

BUS – Industrial Tools received the award in the “Efficiency” category, demonstrating how complex B2B processes can be managed efficiently, scalably, and future-proof with Shopware. The Dutch company relies on a fully connected commerce architecture that brings together its webshop, ERP system, and warehouse scanning app within a centralized Shopware platform – powered by real-time data to ensure seamless operations throughout the entire customer journey.

BUS particularly impressed the jury with its sophisticated B2B purchasing experience. Role-based permissions and customized approval workflows enable purchasing processes that are tailored to the needs of complex enterprise organizations. At the same time, its fully headless commerce platform provides the flexibility and scalability required to support continued growth. Today, the company manages more than 200,000 products across over 2,500 brands.

Beyond its technical architecture, BUS stood out for its measurable business impact. Automated processes and centralized workflows create the foundation for sustainable digital growth and operational efficiency. As a result, BUS demonstrates how modern B2B commerce can be both powerful and intuitive while remaining firmly focused on customer needs.

Villa Schmidt GmbH received the award in the “Excellence” category, showcasing how highly complex product portfolios can be combined with a premium digital shopping experience. The online store brings together advanced product configuration, strong performance, and sophisticated brand presentation to create a commerce experience that excels both technically and visually.

Particularly impressive is the scale of product complexity that Villa Schmidt manages digitally. More than 15,000 products, over 100 brands, and up to 25 trillion product variations are handled through the Shopware platform. A custom-built configurator enables customers to intuitively combine fabrics, colors, textures, and pricing structures – even for highly individualized products.

At the same time, the focus extends beyond functionality alone. High-quality visuals, a seamless customer journey, and integrated personal consultation create a premium shopping experience that consistently reflects the brand’s standards in the digital space.
